I grew up with everything I could want: a loving family and a prosperous home as an adopted son, blessed by my family and their friends. I got into sports and studies early on in life and excelled at most things I did. I made a lot of friends but also did not understand that some of those friends were not out for my good. After my parents went through a difficult separation and divorce, I started to sneak out and struggled to stay true to myself. Creating masks for different people and groups was something else I excelled at. I started to drink and do drugs, but I could always put on masks for my school, hockey, friend groups, and family. When COVID shut down high school I fell hard and fast. For three years, I completely disconnected from family and all that grounded me. After a long road of waiting for life to treat me right, I got a push from a few people to get my act together.
I was given a clear path into ATC. God has restored my family relationships, old friends from church and school, and most of all, my relationship with Jesus. I can’t express the change I have felt in my life, and I thank God for it every day.
