Faithful Through It All

From The Bible:  Luke 15:11-24

Have you ever experienced those moments where you feel overwhelmed by the awareness of the sin you are capable of, and the realization of just how far off track your life has gone?

I know I have.

There have been moments where I have stopped and taken an honest look at my life and seen clearly where my choices had led me.  Moments where I felt broken, ashamed, exhausted, and convinced that this had to be rock bottom – because how could things possibly get worse?

And yet, even there… God was present.

In those very moments when I felt at my lowest, God was still loving me.  Still reaching toward me.  Still making a way forward.  All I had to do was stop running long enough to give Him space to move in my life.

That is the beautiful thing about the grace of God: we are never too far gone for His love to reach us.

This weekend, we will celebrate graduations from three campuses as we honour what God has done in the lives of these men and women.  We celebrate freedom found, lives changes, families restored, health renewed, and hope rediscovered.

There is power in testimony.  There is power in worshipping together.  And there is power in remembering that no life is beyond the reach of Jesus Christ.

God is so good, friends.  His promises are true.

The winter season does not last forever.

And now, all around us, new life is beginning to bloom.

Philippians 1:6. “He who began a good work in your will carry it on to completion.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you that no one is beyond your reach.  Thank you for meeting us in borken places and calling us into new life through Jesus.  This weekend, we celebrate every life being restored, every chain being broken, and every testimony of your faithfulness.  Strengthen the graduates, encourage the alumni, and remind each of us that You are still working in our stories.  Help us continue to walk closely with You in every season.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
