From The Bible: John 8:36
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”
Today, I celebrate nine years of freedom from addiction. Nine years of waking up with a purpose and living in the truth that my past does not define my future and that Jesus is greater than my failures.
If I look back, it’s only through the cross and to acknowledge the Grace of God over my life. I remember the darkness, shame, and the moments when hope seemed impossible. But today, I celebrate how faithful Jesus has been. He met me in my brokenness, loved me when I didn’t love myself and was right there when I finally surrendered.
Maybe your reading this and are also struggling with something whether thats addiction, maybe its something else that seems hopeless. Maybe you’re struggling with a sin that you don’t think you will ever come out of. John 8:36 doesn’t come with fine print. If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Let that truth set in today while you kneel at the feet of Jesus. I read a quote recently, “a lie believed as truth will affect your life as if it were true”! If you’re going believe or speak anything about yourself today let it be what scripture says.
2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: The old has gone, the new is here!” If you are in Christ, your past has no say in your today, only Jesus.
Prayer:
Father God, thank you for your word, your truth and the reality of who we are because of finished work of the cross. I pray that every lie would be silenced today and those struggling today would turn to you for hope and healing. Thank you for your presence and love for each one of us regardless of where we are on our journey. Whether it’s 9 years or one day, each victory is a miracle to praise you for!
