“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.” – Psalm 40:1
There is a unique sweetness when something you have prayed for over months – or even years – finally comes to pass. There can be a sense of awe as you look back and see how the Lord answered in ways you never could have imagined. There can also be weariness, because the journey required endurance, trust, and surrender. And often there is deep emotion as things you once only dared to dream about become reality.
The Bible reminds us that God is present in every step of the journey. He hears our cries, carries our burdens, and walks with us through every season of waiting. Scripture encourages us to bring all our cares to Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). He delights when His children come to Him with their hopes, fears, and prayers.
Answered prayer comes in many forms. For some of you, family and friends celebrated an answer to prayer the day you walked through the doors of Adult & Teen Challenge. For others, it was the day you completed the program, experienced family restoration, found freedom from addiction, secured meaningful employment, or reached a goal that once seemed impossible. Each story is a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
As you reflect on prayers God has answered, remember that the same God who was faithful then is faithful now. Whatever burden you carry today, bring it to Him. Whatever dream seems delayed, place it in His hands. Whatever concern weighs on your heart, surrender it to the Lord.
He is with you in the waiting. He is with you in the breakthrough. And He is worthy of your trust through it all.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for hearing our prayers and walking with us through every season. Help us trust You with the desires of our hearts, knowing that You are faithful and good. Give us perseverance in the waiting and gratitude in the answering. Amen.
