Hi my name is Monroe, I’m 21 years old and come from a northern reservation. Along with getting bullied growing up, my parents relationship was on and off and this was confusing for me as a child. This led me to hurting myself and drinking chemicals that were harmful to help numb the pain. I overdosed on numerous occasions and had to be airlifted to hospitals that could handle my severity. I felt so alone & never felt good enough.
I was in a very dark place until I came to Adult & Teen Challenge. My life has changed so much in the last 9 months. God has been restoring my relationship with my family. They have been so supportive through this program. Now I can enjoy small things again like baseball, hiking & swimming in Lake Superior. I feel very valued and loved. My heavenly Father has given me a hope and I now know that I have a future. I’m considering staying with Adult & Teen Challenge after I finish the long term program.
Philippians 4:6 – Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about it and tell God what you need and thank Him for all that He has done.
