Welcome to the family of world-changers! This is where we meet. This is the place of the general assembly. I don’t mean this website necessarily (but maybe), I’m referring to that very distinct place that established itself 2000 years ago, forever becoming the reference point of destiny. I’m referring to a literal and figurative place where perfection met the ugliest sides of humankind.
I’m talking about the Cross.
It’s where outcasts come to be accepted.
It’s where failure meets redemption.
Where a wanderer finds laser purpose.
Where history meets eternity.
Are you ready to come to this place?
Luke 23:32-33, 39-43 (NLT) Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him. When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left.
One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”
But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
This may resonate for you because you recognize that you are a perfect candidate for what the Cross offers.
I hope it’s not lost on you that Jesus was crucified between two criminals, or how at that very moment, the exchange He has with both of them perfectly defined how simple the message of the cross is.
At Adult and Teen Challenge, we represent Jesus. This ministry represents the very definition of what He did and His mission to bring all broken people to a place of healing.
Luke 4:40 (NLT) As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed everyone.
Our goal is to see people set free. Every one. Whether it’s a recovery group, a place to come live for a year and reset the way we see ourselves, or a prayer link that reminds you that someone is praying for you, know that you are not alone.
Because of what He did, I am given a chance to start over. Because of what He did, I can live a successful life. I can, because of what He did!
Thank you, Jesus, for finishing your mission. Thank you for the huge price you paid. Thank you that because of this, I can have purpose and meaning. I can live out a full and free life.
Thank you for the cross!
